4 days tanzania safari to ruaha

you will be picked up from dar es salaam early morning (5am) and drive to ruaha national park via morogoro town and mikumi national park; this drive will take 9 to 10hrs.

you will stop on the way for hot lunch- tanzanian cuisine. the journey will take you through different landscape, vegetation and escarpment. you then pass the sisal plantations and begin to get glimpses of the beautiful uluguru mountains that soar above the plains and the town of morogoro. the highway then posses through mikumi national park and you will get the opportunity to view the game along the road.

beyond mikumi the road will take you through the baobab valley where you can get a chance to see thousands of baobab trees. later on you will start to climbs the kitonga gorge eight kilometers high. the road will take you to iringa town and continue driving to ruaha national park, on the way along the road side you will see local maasai tribe selling beaded, necklaces and belts. arrive late evening for dinner and overnight at the lodge outside the park.

After breakfast drive to the gate and start a full day game drive inside the park until sunset. Dinner and overnight will be at Msembe Old Bandas/ New Tourist cottage/ Lodge or Tented Camp.

A fine network of game-viewing roads follows the Great Ruaha and its seasonal tributaries, where, during the dry season, impala, waterbuck and other antelopes risk their life for a sip of life-sustaining water. And the risk is considerable: not only from the prides of 20-plus lion that lord over the savannah, but also from the cheetahs that stalk the open grassland and the leopards that lurk in tangled riverine thickets. This impressive array of large predators is boosted by both striped and spotted hyena, as well as several conspicuous packs of the highly endangered African wild dog.

Work up for early morning game drive until 08:30hrs then drive back at the camp, lodge or cottage for breakfast. After breakfast you will continue with game drive until lunch time then start to drive to Iringa town for dinner and Overnight at Neema Craft or equivalent.
