Mikumi National Park is the closest wildlife safari park to the Capital of Dar es Salaam.
This safari can be done by staying at the budget / middle-class or standard luxury lodges or tented camps.
Pick up from the Airport, ferry or Hotel and drive to Mikumi National Park which is approximately 5 hours drive. You will have a short stop in Morogoro for hot lunch. After Lunch proceed to Mikumi NP. Arrive for afternoon game drive until sunset.
Dinner and overnight at Lodge/ Tented Camp/ Tanapa Tourist cottage. (Inside the park or outside the park) full board basis. This is depends on your budget.

Mikumi National Park was established in1964 covering an area of 1070 square kilometers; it was later extended in 1975 to cover the current area of 3,230 square kilometers. Mikumi National Park is located to the North of the famous Selous Game Reserve.
The park is the fifth largest National Park in Tanzania and the most accessible from Dar es Salaam throughout the year Mikumi hosts buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, lions, pythons, zebras, leopards, crocodiles and many more. Over 300 species of birds have been observed in this park.
Start the day with early morning game drive. Enjoy the sunrise with morning game drive, this will take about two hours and a half and then drive back to the camp for breakfast.
After breakfast drive back to Dar es Salaam with stopover on the way for the lunch.
On arrival in Dar es Salaam you will be dropped at the airport, hotel or ferry terminal for the last ferry to Zanzibar.
