Sable Mountain Lodge

Sable Mountain Lodge began its life in 1999 as four stone cottages and a small restaurant & bar. Built entirely by the Tent With A View team, most are still with the company today. The Majority of the Sable team comes from the nearby village of Kisaki, upon whose land the lodge is built. Today, Sable has grown to eight stone cottages and five tented rooms including two honeymoon suites, two restaurants & bars and a fresh water swimming pool and a new large watering hole and hideout from where you can watch what comes down to the water to drink. There is also a beautiful two storey villa, equally good for families and couples, set on top of a hill away from the main lodge with the best view in Selous.

Accommodation: Our hope is that as well as enjoying your vista you also get an insight into our larger view via our work with local communities and wildlife conservation.

Stone Cottages – Our stone cottages are well-spaced and located midway up a small hill which allows for lovely views of the surrounding hills and distant Uluguru mountains.

Tented rooms – Our tented rooms include 2 honeymoon suites described as “probably the best value rooms in Selous” (“Authentic Tanzania”). Our tented rooms are all open fronted raised off the ground so the feeling is that you are completely at one with the surroundings and have a wonderful, unobstructed view from your bed. All our rooms are very private and in keeping as much with the natural bush surroundings as possible. Sable Mountain is not a manicured camp. The aim was for it to blend with the bush.
